Term 4

This Term we have been doing  lots of stuff. Like the first week back we had pet day and I came 3rd place in small animals. Then we had Grandparents Day it was lots fun and we also have swimming  and we have been doing boxing. We also had a Paroa trip  for all the kids that are doing the bike track for our topic. Also we had Athletics  and I did ok in it.

Little Blue Penguins

Hello today I am telling you about little penguins What are little blue penguins? Well today I am telling you I hop you like it.

Did you know Little Blue Penguins are the smallest penguins in the world? They are also endangered. Did you know little blue penguin can all die from just one  dog? 

Dogs think that they are toys and they kill all of them. Most little blue penguins lay up to 1-2 eggs a year. I think that is not much at all the more they die the less are left in the word. 

Little blue penguins can live up to 6 years. They mate for life too. Also they can be as tall as  25 to 30 cm and that's the adult, the babies can be as tall as 10 to 12 cm. 

They are also camouflaged. They have a white belly because is makes it look like the sky from underneath and they have a blue back so it looks like the water from above. so it's hard to see them in the water.  

They eat fish and can hold their breath up to 20 seconds and they can dive down to up to 75 metres. They can swim up to  2-4km/hr but have been recorded swimming up to 6-4km/hr.  Little Blue  Penguins eat up to 25% of their body weight a day.

Today I was just waking  down road all sudden chicks come RUING at me and it was like they are going to war or it was like they are playing  follow  the leader. But why are they not with there mum? Where is she well i guest its fun for now. Do they think I am there mum?
